Scholarship for Chapter Dependents
The BVCPA established a scholarship in the Spring of 2011 for the children of chapter members. The Chapter will award four (4) such $500 annual scholarships for 2012-13, with the winners chosen from qualified applicants. Prior year’s applicants are welcome to apply again. Deadline for submitting applications is extended to May 15.

Congratulations to our first recipient, Matthew Smock. Matthew is the son of chapter members Mark and Cathy Smock. Sorry — last year’s winner isn’t eligible.
Scholarship for Accounting Students
The Chapter will contribute $3,000 this year to the Texas A&M University Accounting Department to be awarded to two accounting students.
This year’s recipients are Jonathan Fann and Taylor Spencer. Both Jonathan and Taylor are junior accounting majors from College Station. Our Chapter was represented by Lyn Kuciemba at the annual Accounting Department Awards Banquet and had the opportunity to meet these fine young people. We appreciate the assistance of Jeannie Barrett and Jim Benjamin.
