AICPA Member Ballot on AICPA-CIMA Proposal

AICPA is conducting a member ballot on the proposal with The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) to create a new association representing the entire accounting profession, while preserving the AICPA and CIMA membership bodies. In April, regular voting members of the AICPA received their electronic ballots from the third-party administrator, under the name “AICPA Independent Tabulator.” Members will have until 5 p.m. ET, June 16, to vote. CIMA members will be voting along a similar timeline.

Accounting Career Education (ACE)

TSCPA would like to thank all of the volunteers who helped out with TSCPA’s Accounting Careers Education (ACE) program for the 2015-16 year. ACE volunteer members donated their time to travel to schools across the state and deliver presentations to students, host workshops and seminars for teachers and counselors, and provide speakers to university and college business and accounting programs. Thank you again for volunteering and promoting TSCPA and the CPA profession.

It’s never too early to start preparing our ACE program for 2016-2017. School solicitations will begin in the fall.

Your Secret is Safe

I think I have a problem, but I’m afraid to talk about it. I don’t want people to see me as weak and unable to control my drinking, even though I had a scare last week when I drove home and don’t remember how I got there. Is there someone I can talk to without the world knowing about it?”
