Scholarship Luncheon

Please join us for the annual scholarship luncheon supporting the Chapter’s efforts to reward as many students as possible each year with scholarships generated from the luncheon proceeds. Send us your CPE interests!

In search of determining the best ways to serve the Brazos Valley, BVCPA is gathering information related to the types, times, places and mediums through which CPA’s experience CPE credits to be most beneficial both personally and professionally. We would love to hear your input as we seek to find a diverse set of responses from various levels, practices and industries. If you would like to see new or different CPE offerings in the Brazos Valley, please email Justin Reeves at with your inputs and ideas.

Steven Tillinger, CPA – 8 Hours

When: Friday, January 27, 2017 from 8:30am – 4:00pm

Cost: Members: $225.00 Non-Members: $285.00

Info: Steven J. Tillinger, CPA, has a tax practice focused on the tax issues of small businesses and individual taxpayers. In addition, Steven is a nationally recognized CPE tax discussion leader and an Adjunct Professor of Taxation in the College of Business, Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi.

Career Fairs

Youth to Career Fair

The BVCPA Chapter will have a table setup at the Youth to Career Fair on Wednesday, October 19th from 9:00am – 2:30pm at the Brazos County Expo Center. If you would like to help us in educating local 8th graders about future career paths related to accounting, please email Nicole Carlton at for further details.

Brazos Valley College Night

The BVCPA Chapter also plans to have a booth at College Night on Tuesday, October 11th from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at the Brazos Center. If you would like to volunteer for this event, please email Nicole Carlton at for further details.

Meet a Member

A.J. Taylor, Chapter Public Relations Chair  

A.J. graduated from Texas A&M University in May of 2011 with a BBA in Accounting and a MS in Accounting. After graduation, he worked for Ernst & Young and became a CPA in 2012. He gained a broad range of experience in individual, corporate, and partnership taxation at Ernst & Young prior to joining Thompson, Derrig & Craig in 2014. This is his first year holding a board position with the Brazos Valley Chapter and has been an active member since 2014. A.J. and his wife, Lisa, have two children, Luke and Hannah. They attend Brazos Fellowship and are active in the church they have called home since moving back to College Station. His family enjoys beach vacations, lunches at the park, and Aggie football. A.J. in particular enjoys all things Dallas Cowboys or San Antonio Spurs. He is hoping his kids will become avid fans, and is in the process of converting his wife into an NFL fan.
